As Myspace Goes Down Tagged Is Coming Up

January 29th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in News

Despite MySpace’s efforts to reinvent it still seems to be on a downward trend. According to comScore the site had 80 million unique visitors in December 2010. In October it had 90 million visitors and the figure was even higher a year ago when they had 120 million visitors. It looks like the major redesign they had in late October did not increase their traffic flow. With this trend MySpace has had no choice but to let half of its employees (500 of them) go earlier in the month. While this is happening a different smaller social network has managed to beat the odds and is curving itself a niche in a Facebook world. Tagged which is based in San Francisco got a revenue of over $30 million in 2010. The company has 50 employees and is profitable and has been so for three years. Now the company is planning to double its employees. This is not the only good thing happening but it will also increase its full time employees salary by 10 percent. How is this possible? Tagged found a space that Facebook had ignored and zeroed in on it- letting users meet others on the site. Tagged hopes to increase its revenue to over $50 million in 2011 as it goes on enabling more users to meet new people and socialize. Best wishes to you Tagged.
