E-Mailing Drawing To An End?

December 24th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in News

Is the use of email as a method of communication declining? Well it seems so. A demographic detailed data from comScore.com shows that the use of email year by year is on the decrease. Youngsters are shying away from using this service. According to the New York Times they term it as boring involving a long process of signing in, typing out a message subject and then sending the message which may go unanswered for a long time. It is in same vein that many articles written about email paint it as an older people’s way of communicating. The younger generation seems to prefer faster methods such as texting. As  for the older generation however, emailing came in and it was viewed as the coolest thing compared to snail mail and faxes. However “uncool” emailing seems, it would be such a drastic conclusion that the service will be buried and obsolete in the near future. Emailing is still an important and accepted way of communicating especially when it comes to official correspondence. It is still an essential method of communicating as it provides an easy way to manage archives. Backups of ideas and conversations can be kept for future reference.
