The Path iPhone app now has a new addition-video support. This latest addition will expand its application to be for more than just photo sharing. It has been the goal of Path to offer users an experience that is very person and this new addition is a step towards the fulfillment of that goal. The new addition though is set to raise mixes reactions because of the duration of the video. Users can only upload video clips that are ten seconds long. Path 1.2 the new version enables the uploading of video clips together with standards pictures. The success of this will remain to be seen. While it understandable that a phone that is not WiFi connected may take considerable time to upload, many will remember the way it went with Twitter. Twitter had introduced “Twitter for Video” service which would run 12 seconds video clips. The unfortunate thing is that the venture did not fair well. Anyway back to Path 1.2, users can still tag people, places and the things in the videos just as they do with pictures. The other feature worth noting is the display of people recently tagged on top of a user’s stream. The reasoning behind this feature is to show users the content of the people that a person is in touch with frequently. The new Path1.2 has a better notification system which directly takes users to the related posts rather than to the application itself.
