One of the co founders of Posterous has decided that it is high time he moved on to other jobs apart from his current position in the company he helped to found. Garry Tan will be joining Y Combinator as a designer in residence. Tan took part in the designing, engineering and product development in Posterous. The company which has so far raised over $5 million in funding has not picked up as quickly as its competitor Tumblr. Despite this Posterous has had a solid audience. Recently the company released an impressive Groups feature. Tan put the news about his move in his Posterous blog but did not give much detail as to why he was moving. He’s move is explained as the desire to work in smaller teams and being in Y Combinator will enable him to do just that. Also he has a great passion for being involved in the early stages of building up consumer products that make a difference. He nevertheless expressed unwavering and unchanged faith in Posterous. Tan added that the company he helped found is in good hands and in the right track as far as fulfilling its potential is concerned. He will move to an advisory role in Posterous and expects 2011 to be quite phenomenal for the company.
