The More Prestigious The Company The Odder The Questions

January 2nd, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in News

With many companies expecting to hire new employees in 2011 so will some of the most prestigious companies. Yet what you may find during an interview with one of these companies maybe a bit different from the norm. Glassdoor.com is a website that gives detailed reviews of companies generated by their employees. The site lists some big employers like Apple, Facebook, Google and IBM as tech companies that are asking some non-standard questions during interviews. For instance a software engineer applicant at IBM was asked how they can weigh an elephant without using a weigh machine. Yes while you get an answer for that keep in mind that some of the questions asked are more detailed and complicated. The odd questions are geared at making the applicants think out of the box. They also allow the employers to gauge an applicant’s mathematics and logic skills. Most of the top tech companies were rated as having tougher interviews. The employees at the companies that have very tough interviews also report being satisfied with their jobs. On the other hand the companies that have less tough questions also have employees who have less satisfaction with their jobs.  Want a satisfying job, gear up for mighty tough questions.
