World Changing In Favor Of Mobile Computers

January 30th, 2011 | No Comments | Posted in News

This year the tablets and smartphones will grow so much in popularity so much that they will account for more than 50 percent of the computing devices sales. This is according to a forecast made by the Deloitte firm. They also added that while PCs will continue to be used by a good percentage of people in the world more and more people will embrace the convenience of being able to have the service of a computer while on the go. The decline in software profits and a rise in the sales of apps is one of the most major signs that there is a shift in the computing world. How can the PCs compete with computers the size of a human hand? It is not wild thinking to imagine that in another 10 years PC’s will have gone the way of the 8-Track player. For marketers this trend is a sign that advertising has to change so as to fit. Since most of the new computing devices have a much smaller screen it will no longer be viable to have web pages that are 75 percent filled with ads and 25 percent with content.  In fact we have started seeing the comeback of a one sponsor advertising on TV and that is very likely to follow in the computing world. The change may not be easy but necessary.
